Während der „Liverpool Biennale 2006“ verführte das neue Ausstellungszentrum „Greenland Street“ Kunstinteressierte aus aller Welt zum Experimentieren. Auf dem Dach der ehemaligen Lagerhalle „The Blade Factory“ entstand ein temporärer Pavillon aus PVC-Streifenvorhängen, den die Besucher an allen Stellen durchschreiten konnten. Mit einem Schritt gelangten sie auf das Dach des Industriegebäudes mit atemberaubendem Blick auf Liverpool und die Flusslandschaft Mersey. Realisiert nach Plänen von Bernd Trümpler und Karsten Huneck , Architekten des Netzwerkes osa, spannten sich die transparenten PVC-Bahnen der Kenotec GmbH aus Troisdorf vom Dach des zweistöckigen Gebäudes bis zum Boden und reichten dabei etwa 15 Meter ins Erdgeschoss hinunter. Im Inneren der Kunsthülle war ein weiterer Bereich durch rote PVC-Bahnen in transparenter Optik abgetrennt. Durch seine intensive Farbgebung war er schon von weitem gut erkennbar und setzte das beleuchtete Gebäude vor allem nachts eindrucksvoll in Szene.

Art with a Vanilla Aroma

During the “Liverpool Biennale 2006", the new “Greenland Street" exhibition centre encouraged art fans from all over the world to experiment. A temporary pavilion made of PVC strip curtains that the visitors could go through at all points was built on the roof of the former warehouse “The Blade Factory". In one step they reached the roof of the industrial building with a breathtaking view of Liverpool and the Mersey waterfront. Realised according to plans from Bernd Trümpler and Karsten Huneck , architects from the osa network, the transparent PVC sheets made by Kenotec GmbH from Troisdorf stretched from the roof of the two-storey building to the ground, falling down about 15 metres to the ground floor. Inside the artificial shell, another area was separated off by transparent red PVC sheets. Thanks to its intensive colours it could be seen easily from afar and impressively staged the illuminated building, especially at night.
