OSA: On an Island
18 and 19 June 2005
The Architecture Centre and Spike Island present an Architecture Week collaboration with the Office for Subversive Architecture.

Centred upon the tide, the harbour and the city itself; Office for Subversive Architecture have spent time at Spike Island constructing a virtual submarine. The work will move throughout the city surfacing and surveying at will, igniting a chance engagement with the viewer expanding our experience of the urban.

For the weekend of 18 and 19 June the periscope will be accessible on four different sites within the city.

Site One – Industrial Museum, harbourside, 11am – 1pm
Site Two – Queen Square, 1pm – 3pm
Site Three – The Centre Promenade, 3pm – 5pm
Site Four – Ashton walkway, opposite Create Centre, 5pm – 8pm


A launch will take place at Spike Island on 17 June at 7.30pm, which will include a performance by Pedro Barateiro, artist-in-residence at Spike Island. This performance will include live feeds, video and automatic drawing.
